How can users "sign up" for a PDS

Page history last edited by Markus Sabadello 13 years, 5 months ago

When signing up for a PDS instance, there should be an identifier from which the PDS XDI endpoint can be discovered, e.g. I-Name, E-Mail address or URI.

For more information about discovering PDS XDI endpoints from identifier, see:

How can a PDS XDI endpoint be discovered from a user's identifier(s)?

The following use cases are supported for signing up for a PDS:

  1. "I am a technically experienced individual, and I want to sign up at a public PDS provider with my existing URI or e-mail address. I know how to configure my XRD to point to my PDS".
  2. "I am a technically experienced individual, and I want to run my own PDS with my existing URI or e-mail address. I know how to configure my XRD to point to my PDS".
  3. "I am a non-technical individual and just want to sign up for a PDS with an existing identifier, e.g. E-Mail address or URI."
  4. "I am a non-technical individual and just want to sign up for a PDS with a new identifier, e.g. username or I-Name."
